A Late Night Hession Session

Until now, Seán Hession has recorded material well-known to Sintraphiles. The album you now hold in your hand represents a new direction. Not that he has forsaken the big-band format that has brought him so many fans (as if!), but he has felt for a while that the time was ripe for a change of pace. This collection of lesser-known songs, partnership with master guitarist Louis Stewart and the reflective mood show a new side to Seán.

With the sympathetic backing of alto sax/clarinettist Ciaran Wilde, guitarist John Moriarty, Dave Fleming on double bass and Tom Dunne on drums, the set creates a feeling of quiet relaxation. Picture a glowing fire, glass of wine and that special person snuggling close! The new selection of songs is a gamut from love new-found ("Love Is Just Around The Corner") to love lost ("Drinking Again") and as the old song says, "All The Stops Along The Way".

Turn down the lights, ease up the volume and enjoy!

Dave Gold.
